Tehran, October 24 (MRUD NEWS)—Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi, informed of affordable air tickets from Iran to Qatar during the World Cup 2022 in Qatar right after his two-day visit to Qatar on October 20.
They discussed initiatives to better manage civil aviation and maritime transport during the tournament that starts on November 21.
During his visit, the Iranian minister met with Qatar Minister of Transport, Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, and reached agreements for cooperation during the World Cup.
There were talks on preparations for the presence of Iranian fans in Qatar during the tournament including the fare cap on air tickets a couple of days before the event to provide affordable air tickets and match ticket quotas assigned to the Iranians.
The Iranians can fly to Doha from the coastal cities of Iran including Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Kish and Shiraz and after visiting the tournament can come back to Iran on the same day.
There were also agreements on marine freight transit which will develop the bilateral transport cooperation between the two countries.
Several Ministry officials, representatives of Qatari transportation industry, Iran’s ambassador to Qatar and the delegation accompanying the Iranian minister, attended the meeting.
Rostam Ghassemi arrived in Doha early on Thursday to hold meetings with senior government officials.
Previously on September 20, Qatar Minister of Transport and Communications visited his Iranian counterpart at the head of a delegation to Tehran to confer on bilateral transport and transit cooperation.
