Iran’s representative at IMO passed away

Mandana Mansourian Iran’s permanent representative at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mandana Mansourian, passed away on February 24 after a relatively long period of illness.

Tehran, February 26 (MRUD NEWS)—Iran Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO)’s representative at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London, Mandana Mansourian, passed away on February 24 after a relatively long period of illness. 

She had been Iran's permanent representative in IMO for 7 years. 

A minute's silence for her were observed by members of IMO in the meeting on Friday. 

The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development and the Ports and Maritime Organization expressed their condolences to her husband and family, and also to the maritime and port community and her colleagues at PMO. 

During her valuable service at the IMO, Mansourian had been elected and served as the vice chairwoman of IMO technical committee. She was one of the candidates for the chairmanship of this committee for this year's election which was delayed. 

The International Maritime Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for regulating shipping.
