Tehran, October 8 (MRUD NEWS)—Iran is currently hosting the first ministerial summit among six states including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Iran for transit cooperation on October 8-9 in Tehran.
Iran deputy transport minister, Shahriyar Afandizadeh, called this summit as an initiative for regional convergence and an opportunity for infrastructure and transport synergy in the region which would make 20 million tons freight transit possible among these countries.
The negotiations between transport ministers of these states during the 2022 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Samarkand precede this multilateral summit in Tehran aiming to reach a joint action among the members.
