The Runway 29 Left at Mehrabad International Airport rehabilitated

Tehran, November 14 (MRUD NEWS)—Upon complete rehabilitation of runway 29 Left (RWY29: left) of the Mehrabad International Airport, the largest airport infrastructural project in Iran is inaugurated by Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi, today during an official ceremony.
The runway rehabilitation is accomplished for the first time since 1979.
The project costs 7,500 billion IRR and it is accomplished within 15 months. 
The project included the runway rehabilitation using latest technology of polymer modified asphalts, installation of runway Lighting System, installing runway markings and signs, installing the precision approach path indicator (PAPI) on runway 29L/11R, flight inspection of instrument landing system (ILS), the drainage system and strip runway.
In the inauguration ceremony, the project of design and construction of a 100,000 m2 terminal of Mehrabad International Airport with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year was also initiated.
Additionally, the construction of the support building for Iran's air traffic control center, was another project that was launched by the Minister.
