Saeed Rasouli, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Head of the PMO, confirmed that feasibility studies for the capacity expansion project have been completed. The implementation phase will soon commence in the eastern zones of Amirabad Port.
During a site visit, Rasouli noted that cargo operations at the port are proceeding efficiently and expressed optimism about the next phase of development.
Traffic and Access Management Plans Underway
The PMO managing director highlighted a parallel initiative to improve the port’s internal traffic systems. This includes enhanced regulation of truck and rail movement to optimise operational flow within the port.
He also visited access routes to the port alongside members of Parliament, provincial officials, and local governors. The group assessed current bottlenecks and reviewed technical proposals for easing congestion and improving the safety of freight transport.
Joint implementation of these measures will be undertaken by the PMO, the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organisation, and Mazandaran Province authorities.
National Integration of Logistics and Transport Systems
Rasouli reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to a unified approach to transport and hinterland development. He said integration is key to increasing port capacity and efficiency nationwide.
To this end, the PMO is closely coordinating with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organisation, the Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructure Company, and relevant provincial governments to execute the planned initiatives.
