Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference on Persian Gulf Oceanography, held in Bandar Abbas, Farzaneh Sadegh said the conference, attended by scientists, scholars, and experts, provides a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in maritime and oceanographic fields.
The Minister noted that the conference and the scientific papers presented contribute meaningfully to the promotion of a sea-based economy
According to the Minister, the conference addresses a broad range of topics related to the maritime economy and marine environment, as well as economic, cultural, identity-related, safety, and security issues associated with maritime activities. She noted that these discussions will continue to shape future conferences and policy directions.
Sadegh emphasized the importance of presenting academic papers in specialized panels, stating that once the discussions are consolidated, the outcomes will be made available to professional and industrial sectors to support practical application and informed decision-making.
Expressing confidence in the long-term impact of the initiative, the Minister said the synergy emerging from the conference—centered on Bandar Abbas and the Persian Gulf—will leave a lasting mark on national planning and maritime policy development.
The two-day conference, held on 28 and 29 January in Hormozgan Province, is organized by the Iran Chamber of Commerce and brings together representatives from academia, industry, professional bodies, and the commercial sector.
