Saeed Kia Kajouri, Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Mazandaran Province, referring to the holding of a comprehensive maritime search and rescue, firefighting, oil pollution response, and security measures drill in the special economic zone of Noshahr Port, stated: "The main objective of this exercise was to assess and enhance the real capability of the organization for rapid, coordinated, and effective response in maritime emergency conditions."

Combined Scenario Tests Multi-Hazard Management

He added: "In this drill, a combined scenario including vessel fire, fall and injury of passengers, oil pollution, and a security threat was executed to evaluate the ability of operational units in simultaneously managing multiple incidents and making rapid, coordinated decisions."

Kia Kajouri, noting that the successful execution of this scenario field-tested Noshahr Port's operational capacity in crisis management, said: "Rescuing the injured, containing and extinguishing the fire, controlling the security threat, and collecting and cleaning up oil pollution were among the most important operations carried out in this drill, all of which were successfully executed."

Enhanced Coordination and New Rescue Vessel

The Director General of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Mazandaran Province continued: "One of the most important achievements of this exercise was the increased coordination among specialized teams and the enhancement of the speed and accuracy of response in the maritime incident management chain — a matter that has a direct role in reducing rescue time controlling damage, and preserving the safety of human lives and the marine environment."

He also announced the deployment of Mazandaran Province's new rescue vessel in this drill, adding: "The entry of this vessel into the operational cycle and its participation in a real exercise provided a suitable opportunity to evaluate operational capabilities and increase maritime search and rescue capacity in the region."
