Chabahar-Zahedan Railroad to be completed in two years The 628 km-long Chabahar-Zahedan Railroad with 74 percent development will be completed by next two years which would complete the eastern railway corridor in Iran just when Zahedan-Khash Railroad as its first phase is now completed and is to be inaugurated soon.

Tehran, September 26 (MRUD NEWS)—Chabahar-Zahedan Railroad will be operated by next two years, the CEO of Iran's Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company, Kheirollah Khademi, informed. 
Chabahar-Zahedan Railroad as an important connecting project along the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is the biggest rail project in Iran and its completion needs 12000 billion toman.
The 628 km-long project with 74 percent physical development has used 1.9 million cubic meters of concrete by now, Khademi added. 
The first phase of Chabahar-Zahedan Railroad stretches from Zahedan to Khash and is 155 km-long which has been completed and will be inaugurated soon.
Previously, 300 million Euro have been allocated to this project from National Development Fund. The remaining will be financed by oil barter and National Development Fund.
Iran is determined to develop its railway network to increase regional connectivity along the corridors and augment the transit. Another high priority project is Rasht-Astara Railroad that was recently discussed during the first trilateral meeting of Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia in Baku for development of transport along the INSTC on September 8-9.
