Tehran, November 22 (MRUD NEWS)—The performance report of transport sectors during last seven months shows a relative increase compared to the same period in the last year.
Based on the latest performance report of the transport sector for last 7 months which is published by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development (MRUD), the road transit had been 5.7 million tons showing 12 percent increase compared to the same period in the last year.
In the rail sector, rail transit had been 840,000 tons during last 7 months showing 20 percent decrease compared to the same period in the last year.
The length of railroads is 15,037 km, with 972 locomotives, 2153 passenger wagons, and 29,174 freight wagons, while the road networks in Iran estimate to 216,880 km.
In the maritime sector, the container operations had been 1,310 TEU showing 10 percent increase compared to the same period in the last year.
Also, the loading and unloading operations in the commercial ports had been 88 million tons showing 2 percent increase.
The capacity of commercial ports is reported 8.5 million TEU.
