PMO expands bilateral cooperation with the UAE

علی اکبر صفایی In the mutual meeting between the ambassador of UAE in Tehran and the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), the two sides discussed expanding port and maritime relations.

Tehran, January 4 (MRUD NEWS)—The ambassador of UAE in Tehran met with the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) to confer on strengthening economic and maritime relations.
In the meeting, Ali-Akbar Safaei pointed to the Government policy for establishing close transport relations with the neighboring countries and regarded development of maritime cooperation between Iran and UAE as significant.
Further, Safaei expressed Iran's readiness over development of transit, port and maritime ties with the UAE and emphasized on expanding mutual collaborations to the Central Asian countries.
Safaei introduced investment opportunities in the southern ports of Iran particularly Shahid Rajaee and Chabahar Ports that can be realized by UAE companies via long-term contracts.
Saif Mohammed Al Zaabi, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, also emphasized on the expansion of economic relations in the field of maritime transport between Tehran and Abu Dhabi, and announced the trust and interest of the UAE Government in developing port and maritime cooperation with Iran.
Referring to the capacities of UAE companies for port and maritime investments in the neighboring countries, especially Iran, Al-Zaabi informed of a site visit to the Iranian ports by experts in the near future.
According to the Ports and Maritime Organization, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Tehran pointing to the good transportation and transit infrastructures in Iran, welcomed Iran's approach to developing transit cooperation with the CIS countries.
