Tehran, March 19 (MRUD NEWS)—Based on the latest performance report of the transport sector published by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development (MRUD) during eleven months from March 2022 to February 2023, six indices in the road, rail, and maritime sectors have had growths in this year compared to the best records in the last ten years. 

In the road sector, road freight transit with 463 million tons shows 1 percent growth. The best record had been in the last year with 457 million tons for eleven months and 501 million tons for the whole year. 

In the rail sector, rail passenger transport with 27 million passengers shows 3 percent, number of locomotives with 986 shows 3 percent and number of passenger wagons with 29,741 wagons shows 7 percent growths compared to the best record in the ten years.  

In the maritime sector, commercial port throughput with 276 million tons shows 4 percent growths and passenger capacity of ports with 25,000 passengers shows 3 percent growths. 

Best records for the above-mentioned indices during ten years were mainly last year in 2022.
