Iran exports $400 million in technical and engineering services to Turkmenistan

وزیر _ مهرداد بذرپاش _ پرتره Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development informed of exporting $400 million in technical and engineering services to Turkmenistan for road construction which will be concluded during the 17th Iran, Turkmenistan Joint Economic Commission hosted in Ashgabat.

Tehran, November 17 (MRUD NEWS)—During the 17th Iran, Turkmenistan Joint Economic Commission hosted in Ashgabat on November 17-18, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, as the heads of Iran, Turkmenistan Joint Economic Commission, informed of concluding the contract for road construction in Turkmenistan by Iranian company with the value of $400 million.

Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development expressed hope that in the bilateral negotiations, other parts of this strategic route will be implemented by Iranian companies.

In an interview, Bazrpash informed of the agreement for gas and power swaps between Iran and Turkmenistan during this visit. 

Additionally, he said that “Iran has a long land border with Turkmenistan and three Provinces of Razavi Khorasan, North Khorasan, and Golestan have borders with this country and one of the main agenda of the negotiations in the 17th Joint Economic Commission is the border markets”.

The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow sent a message to the ‘Iran Project’ Exhibition which is opened today at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and continues until Sunday, November 19.

In the message, Serdar Berdimuhamedow emphasized the development of bilateral trade, seeking new forms of interaction and the implementation of joint projects in promising fields.

He further pointed to the prospects that open up in partnership with Iran, especially along the "Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran" Railway.

"There is no doubt that future negotiations and agreements will be a prerequisite for strengthening and expanding the cooperation between the businessmen of the two neighboring countries in new fields, as well as the subsequent implementation of projects of common interest", Serdar Berdimuhamedow said.

According to Bazrpash, about 300 businessmen from Iran have participated in this Exhibition.

In addition to the ‘Iran Project’ Exhibition, the businessmen of the two countries will meet making this two-day trip a source of new developments in Iran-Turkmenistan relations in the economic and commercial fields.
