logistics village A new logistics village will be built in Bushehr Port to increase capacity of its ports.

Tehran, April 17, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—Following three strategic missions of Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran in 2024 including the development of "sea-based economy", "transit", and "logistics management" which was announced by Mehrdad Bazrpash, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, the director general of Bushehr Province informed of launching a new logistics village in Bushehr Port.

Currently, most of Bushehr's Ports are in need of warehouse and dock space. Due to lack of space, the waiting time of the vessel has increased in some ports of the province, stated Mohammad Shakibi Nasab.

Last year, a significant amount of basic goods entered Iran from Bushehr Port, which shows the high capacity of this port to import basic goods and specially ships under 30,000 tons.

This is a promising initiative for sea-oriented development in this province as it doubles the port and maritime capacity.

The logistics village is set up in this port with the aim of logistics support and support for loading and unloading operations in Bushehr Port.

These strategies are part of the plans for development of Makran Coast and development of a sustainable sea-based economy. Accordingly, Iran is to develop 27 new coastal settlements.
