PMO inaugurated 27 and kicked off 23 port and maritime projects

وزیر In line with three main strategic priorities of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) in 2024 including "sea-based economy", "transit", and "logistics management", PMO inaugurated 27 projects in six provinces of Iran and kicked off 23 more projects.

Tehran, June 2, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) inaugurated 27 projects in six provinces amounting to 59,531 billion IRR while starting 23 more projects with 569,909 billion IRR public and private investments in five Provinces of Iran today through a video conference meeting with the presence of Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, Ali Akbar Safaei, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), and other officials. 

Six maritime projects in Hormozgan Province include the operation of Abu Musa Port, the operation of Sirik Port, starting provision of marine services in the Makran Port complex in the Kuh Mobarak region, construction of the building for the ICT center, the construction of 5 passenger vessels, the construction of marine and port service center of Shahid Rajaei Port. 

Four projects in Khuzestan Province include increasing the capacity of docks in the gravel and asphalt areas in Imam Khomeini Port, construction of a three-grain storage warehouse in Imam Khomeini Port, Major repairs for the development, equipping and maintenance of places and infrastructures in Imam Khomeini Port, and construction of Imam Khomeini's Port Control Tower.  

Five projects in Bushehr include four vessels for search and rescue and inspection, construction of breakwaters for Kangan port development, construction of a new road and bridge to access Negin Port (phase I), construction of a 90-meter-long pier and deck in Mohammad Ameri Port, and major repairs and maintenance of existing facilities and buildings in Bushehr Port. 

Two projects in Sistan and Baluchistan include construction of coastal protection dike of Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar, and construction of search and rescue building in Zarabad, Chabahar.

Seven projects in Mazandaran Province include the expansion of the Var Kola-Gohar Baran route in Amirabad Port, the separation of the water supply and firefighting network in the Noshahr Port area, construction and equipping of the marine reference building in Fereydunkenar Port, shore power supply of port equipment in Noshahr Port, construction of a maintenance center for sea oil pollution equipment in Amirabad Port, the second phase of the 50,000 ton silo in Amirabad Port, and 13000 ton oil tanks in Amirabad Port. 

Three projects in Gilan Province include the implementation of the development plan for the Chamkhale sea passenger port, landscaping of the infrastructure facilities of the 22-hectare area of Anzali Port, and four fixed marine loading arms in Anzali Port. 

Furthermore, simultaneously 23 more projects were kicked off in Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Mazandaran, and Gilan Provinces.
