Tehran, August 12, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—Transit through Iran's territory has been 17.8 million tons in 2023, informed Mehrdad Bazrpash, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development.
The upward trend continues in 2024 with 57 percent growth in transit records.
In 2022, the record showed 12.9 million tons.
Similarly, based on the performance report of the PMO, the sea trade and transit recorded 10 and 49 percent growth respectively in 2024 compared to the same period in the last year.
According to Safaei, the managing director of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), the sea transit has reached 16 million tons in 2023 compared to 2022.
