Iran Ensures Smooth Supply of Basic Goods with Inter-Ministerial Collaboration

pmo meet1 Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, assured the public of no shortages in basic goods supply, announcing streamlined customs clearance processes through joint efforts by the Ministries of Roads and urban development, Economy, Industry, Mines and Trade, and Agriculture.

During the fourth session on expediting basic goods clearance at the Ports and Maritime Organization, Minister Sadegh highlighted key decisions from the meeting. She credited the past 40 days’ success—marked by uninterrupted transport of essentials nationwide—to proactive private sector involvement and the dedication of public officials across multiple agencies, including ministry of Agriculture, Oil, Mines and Trade, Health, the Food and Drug Organization, Customs Administration, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.

The session focused on plans for southern port disruptions, including re-evaluating northern port capacities and border crossings to accelerate imports.

A joint working group, comprising the Ministries of Roads, Economy, and Agriculture, was established to further enhance clearance procedures. This initiative underscores the 14th government’s commitment to food security amid logistical challenges.
