PMO Calls for Unified Coordination to Maximize Northern Ports' Trade Capacity

8 un Mohammad Shikibi-Nasab, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, emphasized the critical need for comprehensive coordination among relevant executive agencies to fully realize the import and export capacities of the country's northern ports.

Speaking at a consultation meeting on removing barriers to trade and transport development, hosted by the Gilan Provincial Governor’s Office and attended by senior officials from eight provinces, Shikibi-Nasab stated that success in trade and transport development requires strengthened synergy among all related sectors. This includes provincial governorates, customs clearance authorities, the private sector, and transport operators. He noted that overcoming obstacles is achievable only through a shared vision among all entities.

Shikibi-Nasab added that planning must ensure existing facilities are utilized to their fullest potential to facilitate trade. He argued that following up on joint decisions can improve transport processes, enhance the role of provinces in economic development, and ensure goods are accessible under all circumstances.

In conclusion, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the agencies involved in customs clearance procedures for their cooperation during the conflict period.
