Tehran, April 24 (MRUD NEWS)—The 60th meeting of the taskforce for development and facilitation of transit is held on 20 April at the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development after three years hiatus with presence of representatives from different ministries, organizations, and private sector in Iran. 

The taskforce is to find major problems confronting smooth transit along different transport corridors and to find practical solutions for facilitation of transit in Iran.

The Supreme Council of Transport Coordination in Iran had initiated the taskforce in 2013 to coordinate and facilitate transit in Iran and within five years the taskforce held 59 meeting.

Within the period of March 2021 to February 2022, road transit was 8 million tons and rail transit 1800 thousand tons. In port sector, there were 1887 thousand TEU container operations and 266.3 million tons commercial throughputs.
