Tehran, July 25 (MRUD NEWS)—Shortly after the visit in Astara on July 17, 2023, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and Shahin Mustafayev, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, as the heads of Iran, Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, in a telephone call, talked about development of bilateral relations.
Particularly the two sides emphasized on accelerating completion of the remaining infrastructures of the Astarachay Bridge within next four months.
Moreover, finalizing preparations to make Khoda Afarin power plant operational was another agenda for discussion.
The two sides further agreed to hold phone meetings regularly every two weeks.
In this call, referring to the recent meeting in Astara, Mustafayev expressed gratitude to Bazarpash for regularly holding meetings at high levels, and conveyed the message of the government and the President of Azerbaijan regarding the importance and effectiveness of these meetings.
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan also expressed his appreciation and satisfaction for the serious follow-up of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development for the joint projects and the formation of special task forces to achieve the results of the agreements.
In the end, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan invited the Minister of Roads and Urban Development to visit Azerbaijan in order to promote Tehran-Baku relations.
Noteworthy, following improvements of Iran, Azerbaijan political ties, heads of Iran and Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission accompanied by high-ranking delegations met in Astara on July 17-18 where they reached some agreements to increase trade and transit.
