Shipment of 16 TEU container citrus fruit from Amirabad port to Russia

Shipment of 16 TEU container citrus fruit Iran shipped 16 TEU container citrus fruit from Amirabad Port to Russia.

Tehran, January 10, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—The third shipment of citrus fruit since November, 2023 was exported to Russia through Amirabad Port in Mazandaran Province on January 3, 2024.

The 16 TEU container shipment is done after the removal of all export barriers and direct supply to the Russian market.

Due to the capacities in this port and reduced time and costs of loading and unloading, more agricultural products will be shipped to CIS countries via this port.

According to the Director General of Amirabad Ports and Maritime Organization, Mohammad Ali Moosapour, "considering the vast area of lands in Mazandaran Province, the garden products, citrus fruits and kiwi, and the unique location of Amirabad port in this Province, as well as the facilities of this port, including multimodal transport, the port is ready in full potential to provide services to the exporters".

Last year, as part of the non-oil container shipping operations at Amirabad Port in the north of Iran, 220 tons citrus fruits by 10 TEU refrigerated containers had been exported from Iran to Russia.
