The growth rate of the housing and construction sectors in Iran reached 2.8%

Tehran, February 21, 2024 (MRUD NEWS)—On the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting today, Mehrdad Bazarpash, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, explained the plans of this Ministry in the housing and construction sectors in his interview with reporters. 

According to the statistics of the Planning and Budget Organization of Iran citing from Statistical Centre of Iran, during March to December 2023, the growth rate in the housing and construction sectors reached 2.8 percent. This rate it was -1.8 percent during 9 months in 2022.  

Bazrpash said that the Government welcomes foreign investments in the housing sector and construction projects. In this sense, China has made several proposals and several agreements have been made with that country.

Pointing to the achievements and capabilities of Iran in construction technologies, Bazrpash said we may use other countries' experiences in the industrialization of housing construction for a faster and more efficient outcome, though several domestic companies are also using such measures in their plans. 

For the National Housing Movement Plan, more than 2,244,000 residential units have been started which are currently under implementation, he further added. 

Previously in August 2023 during the Government Week in Iran, more than 100,000 housings in different cities were inaugurated as part of the National Housing Movement plan
