Iran, Qatar to Launch Regular Shipping Lines

رستم قاسمی Iran and Qatar transport ministers are vising in Doha to expand transport cooperation and paving the way for increased economic and commercial transactions

Tehran, Feb 20 (MRUD NEWS) – Iran Minister of Transport and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi, is visiting his Qatari counterpart to talk over development of transport, commercial and economic ties between the two countries.

Ghasemi informed of the upcoming agreement for launching regular shipping lines between the ports of the two countries and conferring on accessing Iran's airspace by Qatari commercial airlines.

The Iranian delegation will visit Qatari commercial ports and airports and try to provide opportunities for cooperation between economic actors of the two countries, given the determination of politicians for development of bilateral relations. 

Iran President, Ebrahim Raisi, is heading to Qatar tomorrow on Monday for concluding transit and transport agreements. 

The talks are expected to pave the way for the visits of businessmen with the aim of developing economic cooperation in the near future.

Iran transport Minister, talking to the IRIB reporters just before his travel, pointed to the geopolitical location of Iran amid North-South and East-West transport corridors, and mentioned that development of constructive relations with the neighboring countries is the key political and economic strategies of the Government.
