Tehran, June 21 (MRUD NEWS)—Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and Shahin Mustafayev, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, in a telephone call, talked about development of economic relations between Iran and Azerbaijan and completion of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) and expressed hope over improving political relations.
As the head of Iran, Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, Bazrpash emphasized on implementing projects which had been on agenda.
Bazrpash pointed to the strategic importance of the INSTC and expressed hope over improving political relations between Iran and Azerbaijan.
In this telephone conversation, Shahin Mustafayev congratulated Eid al-Adha in advance and while expressing his satisfaction with the improvement of relations between the two countries, he emphasized on the development of economic cooperation.
Further, the two sides discussed other areas of cooperation within the Joint Economic Commission including transportation, transit, water, energy, etc.
In September 2022, following the first trilateral meeting of Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia dedicated to the prospects of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) in Baku, the parties signed a trilateral statement for development of the INSTC.
